Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering 

Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering (MAE) is one of the three Departments with which MAIT started functioning in the year 1999 in a School campus at Sultanpuri, Delhi . Prof. O.P.Grover was the first Dean of the Institute and also first Head of the Department.  MAE department started with an initial sanctioned intake of sixty students for B.Tech MAE course.  The department started functioning in the Block II of MAIT campus at Rohini campus in the tear 2003. All the labs were shifted form old campus and various new labs were developed with modern state-of-the-art equipment.

MAE Department was granted Accreditation by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for three years with effect from 4^th May 2007.  Sanctioned intake of students was increased to 120 in the year 2009. Further,  the Department was allowed to run B.Tech (MAE) programme in second shift with an sanctioned intake of sixty students since the year 2009. In the year 2010, Department got funds worth  three Lakhs under MODROB scheme of AICTE for developing Mechatronics Lab. Department has organised a National Conference in the year 2012 and various Seminars and Faculty Development programme during last seventeen years. Our students have participated in various National and International Competitions and earn laurals for the Institute. Every year, SAE BAJA team of the Department participate in International Events at USA In the year 2018 the team was sposored by AICTE and gotfunds worth Rs. 10 Lakhs for participation in International Events.
